    An old medieval town

    Santa Severina

Santa Severina is an ancient medieval village, located in the center of the province of Crotone, halfway between the Ionian Sea and the Sila Mountains, in the center of a mountainous landscape crossed by the Neto River, which runs through its territory for about 10 km.

The town stands on a cliff in the center of a vast valley that makes it look like a large stone ship.

The great Mediterranean and European civilizations have influenced the history of Santa Severina, each leaving traces, finds and monuments, assets that are everyone’s heritage.

Today it is difficult to find a place where there is such a concentration of artistic, monumental and cultural assets together with a historic center capable of provoking strong emotions. Santa Severina is one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. Its castle houses the remains of a byzantine church and a necropolis from the same historical period, which can be visited, as well as the Baptistery and the Cathedral.
